The perception of a client who has trauma has its own specific characteristics, as well as bodily reactions. During Trauma informed massage therapy, we build a safe space where contact is first established between client and therapist before any interaction.
Trust, safety, clear communication and collaboration are the basic principles.
At any moment, the client has the right to stop the session or to pause it. We move at a pace that is comfortable for them. The work will be especially effective if the client is in therapy parallel to our sessions (but this is not a prerequisite).
